Experienced duo Paul Wesselingh and Jeremy Robinson continued where they left off on day two as they inspired GB&I to a share of the spoils in the afternoon foursomes.
The two veterans, who chalked up GB&I's first point of the day in morning fourballs, comprehensively swept aside Ryan Benzel and Eric Lippert 5&4 in an impeccable display of foursomes.
They led from the first hole and reached the turn two to the good before rapidly closing out the match after the Americans bogeyed 13 and 14, with the GB&I pair finishing the job off in style with Wesselingh landing a five iron two hole from the pin on the par three 14th. Robinson made no mistake.
"We played well this morning and played extremely well this afternoon," said Robinson.
"We got off to great start with the birdie and added a couple more at the fourth and fifth and then had a bit of wobble in the middle but we never really let them get into the game.
"We're only two behind and from the two sessions it means we've got every chance. I was played with my own game this afternoon as it's the best I've played in the three matches."
Partner Wesselingh added: "It's fantastic for the team and has given us a real chance. Jeremy and I just played awesome.
"We were fired after yesterday when nothing seemed to go our way. I think the key thing for us was we swapped over from yesterday and I took the par threes instead of Jeremy. He's longer off the tee than me and that made a difference on the longer holes and made the second shot a little easier. It was brilliant."
GB & I were forced to wait for their second point of the foursomes as the Americans turned the screw with a comprehensive 7&6 victory over the recalled Barry Taylor and Craig Matheson.
Paul Simpson and Jamie Harris found themselves facing an uphill struggle after going three down after four and despite a late rally went down 2&1.
But the foursomes ended in style for GB&I as Andrew Barnett and Jon Bevan secured a 2&1 victory over Mike Small and Lee Rinker.
