I feel I'm ready. I'm not a huge player for practise rounds so I'm glad we're about to get going.

I didn't play in the pro-am today as I've been sick. I didn't get out of bed until 11, which has been a bit of a downer but in some respects it's better to have been ill last night that tonight or any other during the tournament.

There seems to be a bug going around because my little boy had it on Monday, Karen Alliss said she didn't feel well on Tuesday and my wife and mom felt unwell on Wednesday, then I got it last night.

Consequently, I've not eaten that much today but I've been down to the course and hit some balls and to get some fresh air. I feel I'm ready. I'm not a huge player for practise rounds and to have four days of them stretches on, so I'm glad we're about to get going.

I've saw Mike Small (USA team) today, who didn't know I'd been ill, and he said I was the luckiest guy as I've had a nice relaxing day and they've been out playing a five-hour round in the pro-am. It would have been great to play in the pro-am, but getting an unexpected break, even though it isn't how I'd want it, has been good.

I've played the last three days, so I know how the course is playing. The fairways and greens are fair. The greens are quite big so it's going to be a putting competition.

We discovered the pairings last night and I'm out in the second group in the morning foursomes with Jon Bevan and we know it's just down to who puts it on the greens and putts the best.

Given its foursomes and you're playing alternate shots, you're not going to get a full feel of the golf course. Looking to tomorrow, all the par threes are even numbers and so these are Jon's territory.
