CRAIG MATHESON, 26

Assistant Professional
Falkirk Tryst Golf Club
Stirlingshire, Scotland

PGA CUP EXPERIENCE: 2009 (W0 L3 H0)

As the sole Scottish representative, Matheson will be aiming to lead from the front and maintain a record that has seen a GB&I team never lose in three previous stagings of the contest in Scotland.

Craig, like his team-mate Barry Taylor, has never had a formal lesson but don't be fooled by the happy go lucky charm of the big Scot - he knows his own game inside out and will relish pitting his skills against his US counterparts.

He is the youngest member on either side and has been consistently performing well on the Tartan Tour with two victories to his name already this season at Pollock and Murcar Links Centenary Pro-Am.

Other highlights this year include a top five finish at the PGA Professional Championship and a top 10 at the Scottish PGA Championship and Northern Open. Craig also won Open Regional Qualifying at Goswick.

Last year he finished top 20 on the 2008 Tartan Tour Order of Merit with victory at the Airdrie Pro-Am (2008) and was runner-up in the Scottish Assistants' Order of Merit.

Matheson has five holes-in-one to his name and lists cars and movies among his interests.
