PGA CUP EXPERIENCE: 2007and '09 (W5 L4 H0)

In the cauldron of battle, Barnett's unflappable demeanour is set to stand the GB&I team in good stead as they prepare to withstand a determined assault from the visitors.

Barnett has twice finished runner up in the PGA Professional Championship - most recently in 2008 - to earn his spot in the team.

He enjoyed a successful amateur career winning the Welsh Amateur Championship in 1990 and the Welsh Amateur Strokeplay Champion two years later.

From 1996 to 2001 he played on both the European and Challenge Tours with a best finish of tied ninth in the 1996 Austrian Open.

Other achievements include victory in the Welsh PGA Order of Merit in 2008 while he revealed his matchplay skills in 2007 by landing the North Wales & Cheshire Matchplay title.

He captained Wales in the PGAs of Europe International Team Championship in 2008 and is a six-time winner of the North Wales Alliance PGA Championship.

Away from golf Andrew lists his interests as football, fishing and mountain-biking.
